I grew up in a musical family. I began performing at weddings with my father and sister in 8th grade and still perform the occasional gig with them. I graduated from White Mountain Regional High School in Whitefield, NH in 2006. Throughout high school I was very active in both music and drama. I attended multiple All-State Music Festivals as well as New Hampshire Educational Theatre Guild (NHETG) Festivals. I ran on the varsity cross county team for three years, two of which I was captain. I spent my freshman year at Gordon College in Wenham, MA as a Music Education major. I made the transfer to Keene State College in the spring semester my sophomore year. I was warmly accepted in to the music program and began my voice studies with Dr. Carroll Lehman. The decision to transfer to Keene was not an easy one, but it proved to be a starting point for a rich education in musical studies. In my 4 ½ semesters at Keene State, I have had the opportunity to sing with The Concert Choir, Chamber Singers, Opera Workshop, Canticum Novum Chamber Ensemble and Jazz Ensemble. I have also studied piano with both R. Scott White and Maura Glennon. I have become proficient on eight instruments and was able to conduct two choral pieces with the Concert Choir as an assistant conductor. I completed my two semesters of practicum teaching at four schools in the area and completed my student teaching in Keene at the elementary and high school levels. I currently teach music at Murdock Middle High School in Winchendon, MA. My responsibilities have included high school band and chorus, middle school band and chorus, marching band, chamber singers, 6th grade general music, high school music theory, music history and music appreciation and musical direction for the school musicals. I am also an active member of the Chamber Singers of Keene and was a recent soprano soloist for Purcell's Te Deum and Bach's Magnificat. I have a passion for both music and teaching, and am so thankful for the amazing students and teachers that I work with. |
